HPCMP Commercial Enterprise Software License Portfolio for FY2026

Renewals, Changes, and Additions

The HPCMP and Enterprise Software Management Team (ESMT) announces the FY 2026 commercial scientific and engineering software license portfolio (1 Apr 2026 - 31 Mar 2027). This portfolio reflects a 2026 funding realignment and applies to all unclassified enclaves at each DSRC.

Key Points

  • Full retention of the Abaqus and MATLAB license inventories.
  • Full retention of FORGE debugger (including MAP profiler).
  • Full retention LS-DYNA
  • Pointwise and Tecplot are funded at 4 seats each (downscaled from FY 2025).
  • ANSYS are funded for Ansys Mechanical CFD Maxwell 4 seats, Ansys Mechanical Enterprise Prep/Post 4 seats, and Ansys HPC Pack 16 seats (downscaled from FY2025).
  • STAR CCM+ power session licenses funded at 127 seats, and interactive (serial) licenses at 59 seats (increased from FY 2025).
  • FieldView, and EnSight are version locked to the FY 2026 Q1 release (or Q1 for FieldView) and will retain their FY 2025 seat counts. No newer versions past 2026 R1 releases of these codes will be installed globally.
  • The following software will no longer be part of the HPCMP ESMT portfolio for FY 2026. Existing licenses will remain functional until the license transition date of 1 Apr 2026:

    • Gaussian
    • US3D

Abaqus

Abaqus is a general-purpose, finite-element analysis program that places special emphasis on advanced linear and nonlinear structural engineering and heat transfer applications.

Ansys

Ansys

ANSYS/Mechanical CFD Maxwell multiphysics package offers the full depth and breadth of simulation possibilities. This package offers the most effective multiphysics analysis for products needing electronic, fluid, and structural simulations.

NOTE: Currently, the HPCMP does not support ANSYS/EMAG solver capability.

Licensed Units:
  • Mechanical Maxwell Solvers (concurrent jobs) = 4
  • Pack (multiplier core) tokens = 16
  • Ansys Mechanical Enterprise Prep/Post 4 seats - 4
Portfolio changes for FY 2026

Main Fluent/CFX solvers and Workgroup single core tokens were removed. Ansys HPC Pack tokens (anshpc_pack) were decreased to 16 units. Please review Ansys HPC packs in the SLB User Guide for further details.

Ansys-EnSight

EnSight

Unfunded, but support will continue via perpetual tokens; limited to the currently installed releases.

Advanced visualization platform for CFD, structural, and multiphysics results, with many code translators.

  • Standard interactive licenses = 11
  • Enterprise interactive licenses = 5
Usage Notes:

Use the DAV Center's customized EnSight HPC Client-Server Software for the best performance. Interactive sessions are also available through Secure Remote Desktop (SRD) or Open OnDemand.


FieldView

FieldView

Unfunded, but support will continue via perpetual tokens; limited to the currently installed releases.

CFD post processing software for visualizing flow fields and extracting quantitative data.

Forge (+ MAP)

Funded / Unchanged from FY 2025.

A combined debugging and profiling suite: FORGE provides parallel debugging for C, C++, Fortran, and Python MPI/OpenMP applications; MAP offers performance profiling (hardware counters, thread level analysis, I/O metrics).
